Caledonian Climate partners with Wetlands International to facilitate peatland restoration in Scotland
Caledonian Climate has partnered with Wetlands International to drive forward a shared vision of restoring Scotland’s peatlands.
Caledonian Climate is proud to have officially partnered with Wetlands International for an innovative collaboration that aims to facilitate effective peatland restoration at scale in Scotland.
Wetlands International is a world-leading not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation and restoration of wetlands, their resources and biodiversity.
Through this unique collaboration, Caledonian Climate seeks to drive forward a large-scale strategy to rehabilitate Scottish peatlands in order to tackle the climate emergency and achieve global net-zero goals.
Combining the expertise of two sector-leading organisations, this forward-looking partnership will support the realisation of Caledonian Climate’s target of delivering 50,000ha by 2030.
The partnership will deliver:
- Generating international awareness and understanding of peatland restoration in Scotland.
- Shared scientific knowledge and understanding of peatland restoration worldwide.
- Access to the latest techniques and advancements in peatland restoration.
- Relevance on the national and international governance and legislative stage
- Drive forward a long-term vision for high-quality peatland restoration.
